Allcocks Lucky Strike – £ 120.00 – Sold Out
“3 Joint, built cane, cork handle, full stand-off rings, mounted end ring, bronzed suction ferrules…” (1956 Allcocks Catalogue).
One of the most popular Allcocks rods these days (probably due to its all built cane construction and the fact that a certain Mr. Yates is a deovtee!), the Lucky strike is a versatile tool – from float fishing to light legering. The example here is a later rectangular label version that looks to have been restored at some point in its life but retains the original yellow/ black whipping colours and porcelain lined tip and butt guides. The rod is in great condition and ready to fish – the only point of note is a repaired ferrule (see photo – the ferrule has a split low down and has been reinforced with whipping – I’ve tested this repair at length and found it to be very strong). This is reflected in the price – a new ferrule could easily be fitted of course. Come in a fitted (non-original) bag).
